Project
Clear Lake Independent Telephone Co. is an independent telephone company serving 8,300 customers in and around a rural Iowa community. Their existing switch platform was no longer fully supported by the manufacturer and their technical support costs were rising. Faced with increasing competion, they wanted to provide a State of the Art communications system to their customers. The company called on Finley Engineering to design a new platform.
Solution
Finley created a design for a new VoIP based switching system prepared plans and specifications. Finley consulted during the bidding process, managing the bid process and providing technical evaluations of vendor’s proposals. During the 6-month installation and integration process, Finley Engineering staff provided contract administration, budget and installation management management and inspection, right up to assisting with the final cutover.
Outcome
Finley created a turnkey system for Clear Lake. Once in place, the new system helped Clear Lake provide a better service offering, which helped to retain customers in the face of new competition entering the local market. The company also lowered support costs, and gained an edge in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
