Project
N.W. Electric Power Cooperative is a Generation and Transmission Cooperative that served eight rural distribution cooperatives in Northwest Missouri. This Barr-Smithville 69 kV Project involved the routing, design, and construction of a 69kV double circuit to feed a new rapid developing area near Kansas City, MO.
Solution
Through creative design Finley was able to route and construct a 69 kV single and double circuit line through a high end urban/rural environment. Finley provided environmental permitting, centerline and level surveys, designs, material specifications, contract documents, project management, and construction staking for the eight (8) mile single pole self-supporting steel double circuit 69kV transmission line.
Outcome
Finley engineers successfully worked with City and County officials, Federal Highway Administration, and land owners to secure the critical transmission tie for this rapidly developing area near Kansas City, Missouri. Finley Engineering has completed many projects for this same client over a period of several years.
